The Bachelor of Arts (Justice Studies) is designed for students interested in the justice system. The degree will allow graduates to be competitive when seeking employment within the justice field.

Course structure

The Bachelor of Arts (Justice Studies) comprises 24 units (360 credit points), with a maximum of 10 units (150 credit points) at first year level and a minimum of 6 units (90 credit points) at third year level.

The Bachelor of Arts (Justice Studies) requires students to complete a 14 unit major plus a 6 unit minor plus 4 electives. Students have the opportunity to select a 10 unit supporting major instead of the minor and electives.

A Minor comprises 6 units and can be chosen from a number of areas, including:

  • Aboriginal and Intercultural Studies Information Systems
  • Addiction Studies Psychology
  • Computer Science Public Relations
  • Human Resource Management Security Studies
  • Human Services Philosophy & Religion
  • Business Law

Elective units can be chosen from any Faculty within ECU. Ensure that units offered by other Faculties hold the same credit point weighting to meet course requirements.

Students wishing to enrol in the Practicum must enrol in JUS3350 and JUS3351 concurrently. JUS3350 counts as a Major unit of study and JUS3351 counts as an elective unit.
