The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) / Bachelor of Business (Management) double degree combines the new Law degree program (subject to recognition by the Legal Practice Board of WA) with the existing Bachelor of Business (Management) degree program. Graduates gain degree level qualifications in Law and Management and this combination improves graduates' competitiveness in both fields.
Note: The ECU Law Degree is an approved degree for the purposes of s27 (2) (a) (i) of the Legal Practice Act 2003. Specific recognition of Years One and Two has been granted by the Legal Practice Board. Subsequent years will be submitted to the Board for approval as required.
It should be noted that until the entire Law Degree is accredited, no absolute guarantee can be given that persons obtaining the Law Degree will not be required to obtain other academic requirements in order to be qualified for admission as a Legal Practitioner in Western Australia.
Admission requirements
Bachelor of Laws - Entry to Law programs may require a TER (or equivialent) above that applying for minimum university entry. Applicants must satisfy English competency. Special requirements may be required.
Bachelor of Business - Applicants must satisfy English or English Literature competency. TEE Mathematics is desirable.
Course Location and Availability
The course is available at Joondalup Campus in either full-time (5 years) or part-time mode.
Course structure
The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) / Bachelor of Business (Management) will consist of 46 units. Each unit is valued at 15 Credit Points giving a total course value of 690 Credit Points. The program will include 21 Bachelor of Laws core units, 11 Bachelor of Laws elective units and 14 Bachelor of Business (Management) units.
