The Bachelor of Leisure Sciences is designed to provide the theoretical knowledge and practical skills for a career in the diverse leisure industry. The program includes leadership skills, program development, facility planning and evaluation, community development, fundamental business principles and relevant professional practice opportunities. There is also the opportunity to specialise in various fields to give studies a specific industry focus. A Leisure Sciences degree offers employment opportunities in the diverse areas of leisure services, tourist resorts, voluntary agencies, sport and recreation associations and facilities, educational institutions, outdoor recreation and interpretation programs.

The Bachelor of Leisure Science is recognised by the Australia and New Zealand Association of Leisure Studies Inc (ANZALS), Leisure Studies Association UK and Parks and Leisure Australia.

Students need to complete 24 units of 15 credit points each (360 credit points).

To complete the degree students must either undertake a 10 unit Supporting Major (150 credit points) or a 6 unit Minor (90 credit points) and 4 electives.
