The Graduate Diploma of Business (Marketing) is designed for business practitioners who wish to further their knowledge and understanding of marketing.
The program aims to provide a balance between theory and practice. Participants are exposed to research and case study material in each area and through seminars, discussions and assigned project work. The course offers flexibility, and a choice of units.
The School of Marketing's academic staff comprises current and former industry practitioners with solid academic backgrounds. Current working professionals will have a distinct advantage because of their experience in their respective industries, however the course is also ideal for new degree holders who wish to pursue a career in marketing and business.
Marketing is regarded as an excellent route to top management positions and widely recognised as the driving force of modern businesses.
The Graduate Diploma of Business (Marketing) constitutes Stage 1 & 2 of the Master of Professional Marketing.

This course consists of 8 units.
Stage 1:
Plus 2 units selected from:
- MKT4110 Consumer Behaviour IV
- MKT4112 Promotional Marketing
- MKT4113 Professional Communication IV
- MKT4273 Services Marketing IV
Plus 1 unit selected from:
- an area of specialisation; these specialisations could include Sales, International Marketing, Sport Marketing, Tourism, Leisure and Marketing Research; OR
- any elective within the Faculty; OR
- any other units approved by the Head of School (Marketing, Tourism and Leisure) or nominee.
Stage 2
Plus 2 units selected from:
- MKT4110 Consumer Behaviour IV
- MKT4112 Promotional Marketing
- MKT4113 Professional Communication IV
- MKT4273 Services Marketing IV
Plus 1 unit selected from:
- an area of specialisation; these specialisation areas could include units in Sales, International Marketing, Sport Marketing, Tourism, Leisure and Marketing Research; OR
- any elective within the Faculty; OR
- any other units approved by the Head of School (Marketing, Tourism and Leisure) or nominee.
