ECU's University Certificate of Criminal Advocacy is designed for those wishing to enhance skills and gain university qualifications in prosecution roles and functions. It is suited to meet the needs of experienced members of the police force or those performing prosecutorial functions in government departments and/or statutory authorities seeking a specialist university qualification as an aid to enhanced court performance and knowledge of criminal process. The course equips participants with substantive knowledge and skills to perform prosecution functions and further develops advocacy competency.

Those wishing to further their studies in Law may also use their University Certificate of Criminal Advocacy to obtain advanced standing in Edith Cowan University's Bachelor of Laws degree.

The learning experiences will involve high interaction, participation, reflection and critique of existing deficiencies in procedure and substantive law. The Certificate features a three day workshop on criminal advocacy, which will give you personal access to the practitioners in advocacy.
