SCAM

Student Created Association of Marketing (SCAM) was established to promote the social culture at ECU between Business students. SCAM organises a variety of social and educational events throughout the year. To find out more about SCAM, contact the School of Marketing, Tourism and Leisure on +61 (0)8 6304 5046 and request the current SCAM representative.

Student Guild

The Student Guild believes that independence is essential to ensuring strong vibrant and dynamic student representation on campus. Without this fundamental principle, the Student Guild becomes a shadow of the University administration, without any credibility either on campus or in the community.

Provide opportunities for growth of student members in terms of recreational, sporting, social, intellectual, cultural, and community conscious pursuits, thereby creating a more vibrant campus culture and a better quality university life.

Students in Free Enterprise

SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) Australia is part of the SIFE Global organisation of countries participating in the development of students and their communities, through encouraging them to participate in ‘service learning’. It is a process that develops strategic links between students, their universities, their communities and both the private and public corporate sectors. Students use the knowledge they are gaining at university to teach others something that will benefit them with emphasis on initiative and innovation in the teaching process.

The scope of SIFE has been broadened since it was established in 1975 to encompass both teaching and learning through practical application of knowledge and skills gained at university in the wider community by means of student-designed outreach projects. SIFE programs are active at over 1,500 campuses in 39 countries. SIFE students are thinking globally and acting locally.

Post Graduate Student Association

The Postgraduate and Honours Student Association (PGA) represents the interests of all 3000 higher degree students at ECU. This includes all PhD, masters, honours, postgraduate diploma, graduate diploma and certificate students. All higher degree students are automatically members of the PGA and are fully entitled to attend, vote, and speak at all PGA meetings, which are usually held on a monthly basis where students discuss issues of common interest. The PGA coordinates higher degree student representation on University committees, and strongly encourages students to get involved in the representation of higher degree student interests

The PGA can be contacted by email pga@ecu.edu.au.
