Student Information Centres for Business and Law

Faculty of Business and Law Student Information Centres have been established on both the Joondalup and Churchlands Campuses.

They provide one area on each campus where you can get the most up-to-date specific course advice and academic service support.

The Student Information Centre will assist students enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate coursework courses, while the Office of Research and Higher Degrees assists students enrolled in research courses.

We encourage all Business and Law students to make the Student Information Centre their first port of call for any questions:

  • Joondalup Campus - Building 2, Room 2.261
  • Churchlands Campus - Building 15, Room 15.107

Free lunch for all Business and Law students

Save your lunch money and meet some new faces as we put on a free sausage sizzle and soft drinks for all Business and Law students. Listen to music, win some prizes and get to know other Business and Law students during your lunch break.

ECU Careers and Employment Fair

ECU Careers and Employment Fair

ECU will be holding its annual Careers Fair on Monday 31st March. Come along to meet with some of Perth's top employers including Price Waterhouse Coopers, Deloitte, Hobsons, Ernst and Young, ANZ and Westpac.

All students are strongly encouraged to attend. It's never too early to start planning your career.

The event is being held in Building 32 on the Joondalup Campus. Shuttle buses from Mount Lawley, Churchlands and Bunbury campuses will be running to Joondalup throughout the day.

If you would like to get a step closer to your prospective employers, why not volunteer to help out at the Careers Fair? Student volunteers are needed between 9:00am-4:00pm on the day.

Representatives from National Australia Bank (NAB) will be holding an information session about their exciting graduate programs this month.

DFAT Information Sessions: Graduate Career Opportunities 2008

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) will visit ECU to discuss their graduate programs. DFAT's Corporate and Financial Management Trainee program is aimed toward Business graduates whereas their Graduate Trainee program is available for all disciplines. We strongly encourage final year and graduate students to attend an information session.

Develop your writing skills

Several workshops have been developed for Business and Law students, to assist with effective writing and study skills. There are a range of one hour tutorials available during March and April. They include referencing skills, oral presentations and exam preparation. Refer to the workshop timetable for more details. Register to attend a workshop by emailing p.marsh@ecu.edu.au.

Alumni Stories

Getting your first job after graduating can be a daunting prospect. Recent graduate from Business and Law, Melanie Wirtz, is thrilled to report that her latest endeavours to land a job have paid off.

Melanie has recently started working at the Perth Convention Bureau as a Research Assistant. "The hard work has finally paid off and now I have a job to prove it," she said.

Amongst other responsibilities, Melanie is organising Perth Convention Bureau's event calendar for 2009. Congratulations Melanie!
