ECU Finance lecturer, Ray Boffey, has been awarded one of the 2007 Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Excellence in Teaching (VCAET).

Career Fair 2007 ‘Business and Beyond’
Employers from all over the Nation descended onto the Joondalup campus last week in a bid to attract students into graduate positions for 2008 and also to meet with first and second year students to discuss career options and vacation work opportunities. Whilst they tempted students with mountains of sweets and giveaways, the reward for many attendees was the opportunity to meet face to face and find out what industry is looking for in graduates.
For those of you who are looking at applying for positions at the end of this year, the Career Advisory Centre will be holding a series of workshops.
Dates: Tuesday 1, 15 & 19 May and Tuesday 12 June
Time: 12:30pm
Where: Building 8, Room 8.302, Joondalup Campus
To register interest please log on to careers.ecu.edu.au.
If you still have a year or more to go before graduation, then you may want to consider making connections with industry through vacation employment. Keep your eye out for opportunities on careers.ecu.edu.au.

Business and Law supporting tomorrow's leaders
The Faculty of Business and Law has once again shown their commitment to the development of young leaders by proudly sponsoring the Leadership category of the WA Youth Awards. The WA Youth Awards were established in 1999 to ensure that young Western Australia's aged 13 to 25 years receive recognition for their achievements and contributions to the community.
The winner of the Leadership award for 2007 was Joshua Fernandez. Joshua goes into selected communities with his team and pitches in where he's needed. His team cleans houses, does gardening and interacts with the poor and new immigrants.

Course outline
The International Summer School Schmalkalden 2007 focuses on the challenges confronting the world economy under the conditions of cross-cultural management.
The wide variety of countries, cultures and religions represented by our international students provides a timely and unique opportunity to investigate the impact of contrasting cultural-religious value systems on international business. Our goal is that students participating in the ISSS will be offered, and be able to develop through the exchange of perspectives and experiences, detailed knowledge and understanding of the complex and interwoven challenges facing economies and firms in the new millennium.
Where is Schmalkalden?
Schmalkalden is a charming town with a 1125-year history and a population of about 20,000 situated on the southern edge of the Thüringian Forest. The town lies 70 km south-west of Erfurt and 180 km north-east of Frankfurt am Main, in the central German state of Thüringen.
