Teaching and Learning - Profile

The Teaching and Learning office is responsible for the day to day approval and ratification of courses.

The Student Information Centre, which is responsible for undergraduate student course and study enquiries, and approval of exemptions and transfers, is also part of the Office of Teaching, Learning and Student Information.

The Office of Teaching, Learning and Student Information is also responsible for the following:

  • Co-ordination of the overall development of the academic program.
  • Promotion of quality teaching and learning policies and practices within the faculty.
  • Co-ordination of the development and implementation of Faculty staff development programs associated with teaching and learning.
  • Co-ordination of the development of flexible delivery of academic programs in association with the University's Flexible Delivery Centre.
  • The Associate Dean chairs the Faculty Board of Examiners, the Faculty Teaching and Learning Committee, the Faculty Courses Committee and acts as the Faculty contact person for teaching staff on matters related to teaching and learning.
  • Liaises with relevant parties within the University regarding the application of educational technology for teaching and learning.
  • Faculty liaison with the library.
  • Co-ordinates the collection of data and maintains relevant databases on unit outlines, student progress, courses and quality teaching.
