Advanced Standing
Undergraduate Courses
If you are eligible for advanced standing you may get exemptions from subjects or you may be able to substitute other subjects instead.
You can apply for advanced standing for previous tertiary study, TAFE qualifications at Diploma level or higher or equivalent experience and/or qualifications. You WILL NOT be granted advanced standing for Secondary School study or TAFE Certificates.
Postgraduate Courses
Graduate units from recognised universities are credited if relevant.
Undergraduate units are not applicable for credits towards postgraduate courses but a first degree by a recognised university is sufficient entry requirements together with the relevant work experience to gain entry into the Higher Degree Program at ECU. Where equivalent content is covered in an undergraduate unit you may be eligible for a substitute unit.
Applying for Advanced Standing
If you believe you may be eligible for Advanced Standing on the basis of previous studies, you must submit an Application for Advanced Standing (PDF 92KB) with all original or certified copies of documentation of previous studies to the Co-ordinator Student Information and Academic Services in the Student Information Centre on the relevant campus.
Please note:
