Studying Off-Campus
How will I get unit materials?
All units offered for study at a distance by the Faculty of Business and Law are delivered online - no supplementary printed materials are supplied.
Does this mean I can study at my own pace?
Units and courses offered for study in an off-campus mode adhere to the ECU Academic Calendar.
What do I need?
Hardware requirements
You will need a computer (or regular access to a computer) and regular access to the Internet.
Software requirements
Software requirements may vary depending on the unit, however you will need to use standard Office applications such as Word.
Links for free plugins such as Acrobat Reader and Flash Players are available within myECU (Blackboard).
What happens with exams?
Examinations for off-campus units are normally held during the examination period each semester.
As an off-campus student, you will need to apply to sit your exams - dependent on where you live, you will sit your examinations at one of ECU's examination centres or with an appropriate supervisor.
You can refer to Student Information - Exams for information about arranging off-campus exams, use of bilingual dictionaries, calculators, deferring examinations, alternative exam conditions and related information.
