South China Normal University (SCNU)
South China Normal University (SCNU) is a university with a strong reputation for both teaching and research. SCNU offers bachelors, masters and doctoral courses in disciplines including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, technology, and management.
SCNU is composed of three campuses: Shipai campus, Nanhai campus and a campus located in Guangzhou University Town. The university consists of 24 schools and one department, with 1526 teaching staff – comprising 304 professors, 382 associate professors and 624 master/doctoral supervisors.
There are currently 23,086 full-time undergraduate, 3,583 postgraduate and 945 overseas students. The overseas student population is derived from a diverse range of countries, including USA, UK, France, Japan, Russia and Australia.
SCNU is a member of “Project 211”. This 21st Century development project will upgrade approximately 100 universities - enabling them to compete with other leading Universities on an international scale.
SCNU is focussed on the goal of continuing to establish its reputation as teaching and research oriented university. The university has actively established international cultural and academic exchange links. SCNU currently has links with over 50 universities in more than 20 countries. It has also been active in establishing joint research projects with private industry, in government sectors and with the defence force.
