Legal advice is about to become a great deal more accessible to those living in the northern suburbs with the opening of a community law centre on the Joondalup Campus of ECU on the 3rd May 2007.

The community law centre is a result of a partnership between the Northern Suburbs Community Legal Centre (NSCLC) and the School of Law and Justice. Law students in School of Law and Justice programs will work alongside practitioners from the NSCLC to staff the centre.

Attorney General Jim McGinty opened the new NSCLC and congratulated the centre and ECU for the joint project.

“The Edith Cowan University/Northern Suburbs Community Legal Centre is a valuable resource that will advance the education of ECU law students by offering a clinical component to their studies, while also providing much needed legal services to residents in the Joondalup and Wanneroo areas,” Mr McGinty said.
