Abstract:

The Australian steel industry has been bestowed with an abundance of natural resources essential for steel making. Steel industry is extremely a factor dependant resource based manufacturing industry. Competitive advantage in possessing the natural resources needs to be matched by comparative advantage in capital and labour factors that are required to demonstrate the competitiveness of the Australian steel industry in global market. This research is targeted at understanding the fundamental causes to the impediments and analysing opportunities to overcome these constraints.
